“WHEN LIFE WAS BRILL – PART ONE” – AIRS TONIGHT AT 22:00 GMT ON BBC RADIO 2!
For our fans in the UK… “When Life Was Brill“
I’m hosting a two part documentary looking at the music, the writers, and the buildings in New York which created the soundtrack for a generation. I discuss the unique atmosphere of the late 50’s and early 60’s and how song writing changed from grown ups writing for teenagers to teenagers writing for teenagers, in addition to the Jewish tradition which shaped the background of so many of the writers. The programmes also reflect how the British invasion, the rise of Motown, the emergence of the singer/songwriters and the focus of the U.S music industry switched from New York to Los Angeles.
The first part airs TONIGHT at 22:00 GMT on BBC Radio 2.
Part Two airs on next Monday, April 27th! Click here for more information!
BEGINNING TO BREATHE AGAIN – JOHNNY ROCKS CLUB MIX – NOW AVAILABLE FOR DIGITAL DOWNLOAD!
A few years ago, I wrote and recorded “Beginning to Breathe Again“, which was featured on my last album “The Real Neil“. It has been well-received at my live performances and I have received some incredibly moving letters from my fans about how much the song means to them.
As much as I love the acoustic, pure form of the song as originally released, I thought about trying something new with this particular piece. Once again, trying to raise the bar and reinvent Neil Sedaka, I felt that “Beginning to Breathe Again” could be a Dance song. I enlisted Dance Music Producer Johnny Rocks and we went to work.
I’m very proud of Johnny’s remix and I am very happy to share it all with you.
“Beginning to Breathe Again” is available for Digital Download on iTunes and Amazon.
